What being late says about you…
Lateness is offensive. It is offensive to the craft of acting, it is an insult to your teacher or director and your fellow performers and colleagues.
But what does lateness say about you?
1) That you don’t feel that you need to respect basic professional courtesy
2) That you care so little about your class, job or role that you can’t turn up on time for it. This being true, give up now.
3) That insulting your teacher/director/classmates/fellow performers is okay with you.
4) That the rules apply to everyone BUT you.
5) That you expect others to indulge you.
6) That following basic professional courtesy doesn’t count if you didn’t mean to transgress. As if all things are made good by an apology.
Just to clear this up, you are late if you are not ready to work on time. Your reasons are not important or relevant. If you were here but in the toilet, you are late, go to the toilet on your own time.
Your lateness is says a lot about you.
Cultivate the habit of being early. That says a lot about you too!
